The historic villages
Visiting the villages of the Gargano means to take a trip alternating sea and mountain landscapes
The Gargano countries are characterized, in their ancient part, by a typically medieval urban structure. The Norman conquest of southern Italy in the eleventh century brought in Puglia, in fact, a period of political stability, a favorable condition for the birth or consolidation of the settlements today still existing.
Churches, castles, palaces, but above all the vernacular architecture of the popular classes, are the result of centuries of wisdom handed down from father to son and today are even suggestive restaurants, accommodations and location for events. They offer the opportunity to spend relaxing moments, surrounded by the thousand suggestions lingering in the silence and in the peace of the old towns.
